Expertise

Jennifer's areas of expertise include building and construction disputes, particularly claims made under security of payment legislation in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. She has acted for clients in large scale litigation at all levels and has experience with all stages of the litigation process.

Jennifer is also experienced in general commercial litigation, defamation, copyright, administrative law, laws relating to health and aged care, equal opportunity and discrimination.

She has trained as a mediator, enhancing her ability to resolve disputes effectively and efficiently.

Experience

Jennifer has acted for:

• a defendant in a major copyright dispute in the Federal Court of Australia and on appeal in the Full Federal Court
• a foreign company in a contract case regarding the supply of allegedly defective goods in South Australia
• an international telecommunications company in a multimillion dollar construction dispute, including claims under security of payment legislation
• a property owner in respect of a million dollar 'make good' claim in the Supreme Court of Victoria
• a defendant in a multimillion dollar contract dispute arising out of the failure of a joint venture development agreement in the Supreme Court of Victoria

• a large listed company on a multimillion dollar taxation of costs arising out of a successful Federal Court contract dispute.

Pro bono and Community Work

Jennifer is a Big Sister in the Big Brothers, Big Sisters program, which provides young people with mentoring, friendship and support outside their family units.
