Expertise

Louise provides legal and strategic advice to clients on employment and industrial relations issues, including industrial disputes, enterprise bargaining, wrongful and unfair dismissals, EEO and occupational health and safety.

 

She has experience representing clients in the AHRC, Fair Work Australia, the EOCV, and federal and state courts. As well as advising and representing clients in employment, OHS and discrimination matters, Louise also conducts training seminars on issues of interest to clients.

 

In addition, Louise prepares employment related documentation such as contracts, workplace policies and procedure manuals.

 

In articles appearing in The Australian  on 3 September 2010,[1] Louise was named as one of the nation's best lawyers, along with three other partners in our firm - John Hutchings, Levent Shevki and Nicole Stevens-Warton. In the same articles, Cornwall Stodart was acknowledged as walking among the giants of the legal industry and was placed ahead of some top-tier and/or international firms. Experience

Louise's experience includes:

  • unfair and unlawful termination claims - providing both advice and representation
  • drafting and negotiating industrial agreements such as enterprise agreements, including advice and assistance on lodgement requirements
  • occupational health and safety - advising and representing clients in safety incidents and prosecutions
  • advising clients on discrimination matters and providing representation at conciliations as well as hearings
  • developing HR policy and procedure manuals covering all aspects of the employment relationship, including EEO, bullying, electronic communications, discipline and counselling, whistle blowing, work from home, codes of conduct etc, and conducting training for staff
  • advising on all aspects of transfer of business.
