Expertise
Wayne has over 20 years' litigation experience and particular
expertise in insolvency and property law.
He has acted in a vast range of complex commercial disputes,
including shareholder, intellectual property and major construction
litigation. Wayne has a well deserved reputation for creating 'out
of the box' solutions to avoid costly court proceedings.
Wayne is sought by clients for his strategic approach and
ability to quickly identify the commercial imperatives relevant to
any dispute. He enjoys partnering with his clients to produce
highly successful and commercial outcomes.
Before practising law, Wayne was a member of the Australian
Federal Police. He also acted as a consultant with the Office of
Strategic Crime Assessments and was engaged as a senior lecturer in
the Faculty of Law and Management at La Trobe University. These
roles have enhanced his skills as a legal practitioner.
Experience
Wayne has acted for and advised:
- Deloitte Consulting in the prosecution of a $120 million claim
against six former consultants for breach of contract and common
law rights
- Ericsson Australia in the prosecution of a $40 million claim
against the State of Tasmania and the Hydroelectric Corporation for
misleading and deceptive conduct
- Ericsson Australia in the prosecution of a major claim arising
out of the construction of the 3G telecommunications network
- Sino Business Services in a claim for $46 million relating to a
share sale agreement and the acquisition of land rights in
China
- a range of clients in numerous applications for interlocutory
relief, including injunctive relief, and Anton Pillar orders
- various clients in the enforcement of intellectual property
rights, including copyright, trade marks, patents and trade
secrets
- administrators, liquidators and receivers in a variety of
circumstances, including acting for the receivers of Lincraft Pty
Ltd in the defence of approximately 30 retention of title claims
totalling $5.5 million

various clients in an extensive range of commercial disputes,
including those arising from commercial contracts, joint venture
agreements, shareholder agreements and the sale of real
property.
