Cornwall Stodart Award - BRW's 50 Best Places to Work 2010

We are proud to announce that Cornwall Stodart has once again been named as one of BRW's 50 Best Places to Work. This year we achieved a ranking of 34, an improvement on last year's result.

BRW's list was released today 24 June 2010 and is based on the results of the Great Place to Work Institute's (Institute) survey, which included employee and management questionnaires. Applicants are judged by their own employees and the results are measured against a Trust Index.

The Institute considers a great place to work is one where you: trust the people you work for, have pride in what you do and enjoy the people you work with. Accordingly, each of the questions in the Trust Index falls under one of five Trust Dimensions: Credibility, Respect, Fairness, Pride and Camaraderie. This year, the Institute noted the importance of the quality of relationships within a workplace, as well as the importance of establishing a culture of trust. 'Perks' and 'fun' are also valued and include, for example, social activities and fitness programs, both of which Cornwall Stodart provides to all staff at the firm.

As a result of the feedback of our employees, Cornwall Stodart was selected as one of the best places to work in Australia and was given an overall rating of 81% as a great place to work. We are one of the four law firms that achieved a ranking and BRW noted: 'Cornwall Stodart Lawyers is one of the few firms that resisted staff cuts last year, as well as voting against four-day weeks.'

Again, we will use the detailed feedback provided by the Institute to make Cornwall Stodart an even better place to work. Well done to all involved!
