Michael Kohn promoted to Partner

We are delighted to announce that Michael Kohn has been promoted
to a Partner of Cornwall Stodart.
Michael has over 25 years' experience in revenue law and is the
Head of our Revenue Law group. As a qualified chartered accountant,
he was a tax partner in one of the top four international
accounting firms before joining us as a lawyer. He was soon
promoted to the position of Special Counsel and, as of 1 July 2011,
became a Partner.
Michael specialises in revenue and trust law with particular
emphasis on the taxation of companies, trusts, individuals and
charitable organisations. In addition he has developed a
significant knowledge base, supported by substantial practical
experience in respect to tax controversies, audits and
investigations; tax risk assessment and management. He also advises
clients on the application of the goods and services tax and
transfer pricing issues. Private equity transactions and
corporate reorganisations are a central focus of Michael's advisory
engagements.
His background as an accountant ensures that, as a lawyer, he
has a deep understanding of corporate finance, auditing and
accounting practices and the basis of their interaction
with revenue laws. In the past his involvement in the revenue
law field included forensic investigations and providing
expert evidence in court proceedings.
