I started with Cornwall Stodart just over a year ago and from the beginning I felt part of the team. It certainly didn’t take me long to realise why the firm was named in BRW’s 50 Best Companies to Work for 2009.

Respect is a two way street at Cornwall
Stodart. Administrative staff are valued as an integral part
of delivering exceptional legal services. When I do my best,
respect is automatic. It is very rewarding. Also, it's refreshing
to feel empowered and respected as a Legal Assistant.
The review process is very thorough yet
highly gratifying. We are given an opportunity to voice our
concerns and play a part in improving the working
environment. We are congratulated on our areas of strength and
guided in our areas of improvement. It is comforting to know that
we have very approachable and flexible partners and managerial
staff. I am free to grow as a Legal Assistant.
As a member of the administrative team,
it is uplifting to be commended for reaching budget by our
supervising lawyers and our practice group as a
whole. Everyone works together and everyone's opinion and
contribution counts. The whole team 'makes budget' - not just the
lawyers - and we all feel the success and the sense of
achievement.
The social activities don't feel like
an obligatory chore (as they often can be!), but are great
fun. The staff morale at Cornwall Stodart is high and we are
very productive. It is more than just a professional regard for
each other - we sincerely enjoy each other's company. It makes
coming to work enjoyable.
It feels great to be genuinely happy in
my place of work.
