After graduating law and economics (accounting) at Monash University, Adam moved to the United States, and has been a California lawyer since 1997 specialising in business matters in the media, entertainment and technology sectors.
Adam’s areas of expertise include entertainment, government relations, media, start-ups, tech, and Australia to US expansion.
His practice focuses on:
- Corporate: Business and corporate structure and formation
- Private Equity: Raising funds via debt or capital investments
- Transactional: Structuring deals and negotiating contracts both private and government
- Endorsement: Including brand partnership and sponsorship agreements
- Intellectual Property: Protection and transfer of copyright and trademarks
- Employment: HR legal support, employment terms and compliance
Experience
Adam’s recent experience includes:
- business transactions, including equity investments, endorsements and partnerships;
- assisting multiple Australian companies in their expansion to the US, advising on corporate, employment and transactional matters;
- intellectual property agreements, including licenses, transfers and trade mark registrations;
- transactions with major studios, including Netflix, NBC Universal, Warner Bros, Paramount, Sony, Blizzard and Amazon;
- a US$ 50 million contract with the government of Mexico and subsequent project leadership of the nation’s bicentennial celebrations; and
- project leader of the City of Los Angeles public contracting process for Nederlander Concerts in partnership with AEG Live for LA’s Greek Theatre.
Pro Bono & Community Work
Founder and Executive Director of the Pitchhiker Foundation, a California 501c3 arts non profit, dedicated to boosting global music careers. (www.pitchhiker.org), with projects including the Australian Music Alliance cross Pacific initiative.
