Experience

Nick has extensive taxation experience gained in a variety of roles including with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), in commerce with ANZ Banking Group, and in professional services including 16 years as a partner with KPMG. He brings with him an understanding of the various perspectives that different participants in the tax system may have, mindful of their competing and common interests. Having worked in a senior tax role with a major bank Nick has experienced the challenges of implementing and complying with tax measures. His advice is clear, commercial and practical.

In his role as an adviser Nick has specialised in financial services and e-commerce. He has completed engagements for major banks, superannuation funds, managed investment schemes and payment platforms. In the e-commerce sector he has completed major engagements for leading marketplaces, digital services providers across a range of sectors.

A recent and relevant engagement has been working with a neo bank, combining both his financial services and digital expertise.

He has extensive experience in actively managing taxation audits and resolving disputes. Including audits of non-resident digital services providers both before and following the so called “Netflix” amendments in 2016.
