Peter has extensive experience in Australia, the United States and Asia in both a legal and commercial advisory capacity. He has led or advised on a wide range of acquisitions and ventures for over 20 years.
Peter specialises in entertainment, media, technology and sports law, as well as corporate and commercial law, including mergers & acquisitions, with a focus on cross-border projects.
Peter has practiced as a mergers & acquisitions lawyer in New York, and has held a number of senior executive roles in the entertainment & media sectors, which included responsibility for acquisitions and new ventures. He has also served on a number of industry boards in the EMT sectors.
At EMT Law, Peter has had the opportunity to combine industry sector expertise and experience, with technical execution capability across corporate, commercial and litigation matters.
Experience
Peter’s recent experience includes:
- advising Malaysia’s leading media company and its portfolio companies on a range of legal and commercial matters in Asia and the United States;
- advising companies and individuals on a range of reputation management issues, including defamation and privacy, through to litigation;
- advising a new sports league in connection with a commercial dispute with the sports governing body;
- acting for an Australian marketing agency in an MBO and associated refinancing;
- acting for an Australian digital marketing company in its sale to a European private equity firm;
- acting for a major live events company in relation to a corporate restructure;
- acting for a major live events company on a number of acquisitions and ventures;
- legal and strategic advice for a number of technology start-ups in connection with corporate matters and capital raising; and
- commercial and legal advice on numerous film, television and live event projects and ventures.
